What Syncanix stores in your browser, and why. The short version: we use only strictly-necessary storage to keep you logged in and to run the chat. We do not use cookies for advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking.
Summary
- No tracking. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no cross-site or third-party tracking pixels on any Syncanix surface.
- Strictly necessary only. The only storage we rely on keeps you signed in to the dashboard and keeps your chat session working.
- No consent banner, by design. Because we set no non-essential cookies, there is nothing to consent to under the ePrivacy Directive / GDPR. If that ever changes, a consent control ships before the cookie does.
The marketing site (syncanix.com)
This public site is a static single-page app. It ships no analytics, advertising, or tracking integrations and sets no non-essential cookies. A content-delivery network and security layer may set strictly-necessary, short-lived cookies to serve and protect the site (for example, load-balancing or anti-abuse). These carry no profile of you and are not used to track you across sites.
The dashboard (app.syncanix.com)
The customer dashboard uses Auth0 for authentication. When you sign in, Auth0 stores an authentication session in your browser (cookies and/or local storage) so you stay logged in across page loads and don’t have to re-authenticate on every request. This is strictly necessary — the dashboard cannot function without it. Auth0 is an EU-region subprocessor; see the subprocessor list.
The embedded chat widget
When the Syncanix widget is embedded on a customer’s website, it keeps a minimal local session in the visitor’s browser (for example, the current conversation identifier and open/closed state) so the chat works across page navigations. This storage is strictly necessary to provide the chat and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. The customer that embeds the widget is the controller for any personal data in those conversations; Syncanix processes it on their behalf under the DPA.
Managing storage
You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser’s settings. Because the storage we use is strictly necessary, blocking it for app.syncanix.com will sign you out and may prevent the dashboard or the chat from working. Blocking storage on the marketing site has no functional effect.
