Billing & plans
How Syncanix charges: per-workspace plans, compute-unit (usage) metering, subscriptions, bringing your own model key, and the limits that keep usage predictable.
Syncanix bills per workspace. Each workspace has its own plan, its own usage allowance, and its own subscription โ so you can keep production and staging, or separate teams, cleanly apart.
How billing works
Your plan sets a monthly allowance and the features available to the workspace. Usage is metered in compute units (CU) โ a weighted measure of messages, tool calls, and tokens โ not by seats, servers, or headcount.
- One subscription per workspace. Switch workspaces from the dashboard to manage each plan separately.
- Usage is metered in compute units (CU) โ a weighted measure of what your assistant does (messages, tool calls, tokens), so what your users actually do drives cost, not how many of them there are.
- You choose how model access is billed: managed by Syncanix, or billed directly to your own provider key (BYOK).
Managed and BYOK
Every plan runs the same product. The difference is who pays the language-model provider for the tokens your assistant generates.
- Managed
- Syncanix provides model access, bundled into your plan price โ one predictable invoice, no separate passthrough line. Nothing else to set up.
- BYOK (bring your own key)
- You add your own Anthropic or OpenAI key. Model usage is billed by your provider at their price, with no Syncanix markup.
