How Syncanix prices each interaction in usage credits (UC), what the four posted prices are, what happens at your limit, and where to track it.
Syncanix charges by what your assistant actually does — not by seats, requests, or servers. Every interaction has a posted price in usage credits (UC), and there are only four of them.
What’s a usage credit?
A usage credit (UC) is the unit the posted prices are quoted in. One interaction costs 6 UC when the assistant answers, 15 when it also takes an action, 18 when it also looks something up, and 30 when it does both — those four prices are the whole menu. The meter resets at the start of each calendar month (UTC).
How it’s counted
You are charged the posted price of each interaction, and nothing else. A few rules follow from that:
- Each interaction draws its posted price — a heavy user who chats and triggers actions all day runs up more interactions than a casual one, but never a bigger price per interaction.
- The meter resets to zero at the start of every calendar month (UTC).
- Your own team using the dashboard isn’t metered — only the work your assistant does for your end users consumes UC.
What a conversation actually costs
The price menu is short, so budgeting is arithmetic rather than estimation. Answering a question is 6 UC. Answering and taking an action is 15. Answering and looking something up in your indexed content is 18. Doing both is 30 — the most any single interaction can ever cost. Each of the four is a flat price, not a running total, so you read one number per interaction rather than adding anything up. A conversation is several interactions, so budget by turns, not by chats. Three shapes cover most of what you'll see:
- A quick question — 6 UC
- One message in, one answer out, with nothing looked up and nothing run. The base price, and the cheapest an interaction can be.
- An answer that acts — 15 UC
- The assistant runs one of your API actions to answer — say, 'find my open invoice and email it to me.' Running six actions inside one interaction costs the same 15 UC as running one.
- An answer that acts and looks something up — 30 UC
- The assistant reads your indexed docs or product data and runs an action in the same turn. This is the ceiling: no interaction costs more, however long the reply or however many steps it took.
Your monthly allowance
Each plan includes a monthly usage-credit allowance; Enterprise is custom. The exact number for each plan is on the pricing page.
Approaching the limit
The dashboard shows your current usage against your allowance, with a status that changes as you get closer:
- Within
- Comfortably under your allowance. Nothing to do.
- Approaching
- You’ve used about 80% of your allowance — a good moment to consider upgrading.
- Reached
- You’ve hit your allowance for the month.
When you reach the cap
Reaching your allowance doesn’t switch your assistant off. By default it pauses new turns once the included usage credits are used up, and your data and conversation history stay readable — or you can opt in to pay-as-you-go overage to keep running. The meter clears at the start of the next month, and upgrading raises the allowance immediately.
Tracking usage
Open Settings → Billing in the dashboard to see your current usage-credit usage, your allowance, and where you are in the month. Usage logs break activity down in more detail.
